Advocacy Domain Training

The Talbot County Health Department, the Behavioral Health Administration, and the University of Maryland Training Center, are pleased to bring Advocacy Domain Training to you.

What is Advocacy Domain Training?

Objectives of the Training:

  1. Define advocacy and demonstrate the difference between “Little a” and “Big A” advocacy.
  2. List methods, skill, and traits for successful advocacy.

  3. Explain why self-advocacy is important in the role of a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist.

  4. Explain how self-determination relates to recovery and wellness.

  5. List the steps of a basic approach to advocacy.

  6. List the basic rights of individuals who have mental illness or addiction concerns.

  7. Demonstrate the ability to work with another individual to advocate on their behalf.


When- June 19, 2019

Time- 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registration will start at 8:30 am, training will promptly start at 9:00am
